Floors-2-Go, a laminate and wood flooring specialist, has signed a five-year contract with Unipart for the provision of warehousing and distribution services to its 136-strong UK stores business.
Under the new contract, Unipart – whose retail clients include Halfords, Homebase, Vodafone and ASOS – will run Floors-2-Go’s existing 120,000 sq ft facility at Trinity Point, Oldbury, near Birmingham. Eighteen of the retailer’s employees will transfer to Unipart as part of this agreement and they may have the opportunity for personal development offered by Unipart’s corporate university, The Unipart U, and Unipart Logistics’ flagship Teaching Distribution Centre for operational employees at Cowley.
Commenting on the contract award, Roger McLaughlan, Chief Executive of Floors-2-Go said: ‘We selected Unipart as our partner due to the combination of the Group’s focus on giving high levels of personal customer service and the logistics arm’s proven retail logistics and supply chain expertise. Improving the way the business supports the store network is a priority for us so the opportunity to drive continuous improvement through the use of the Unipart Way was also a key factor in the selection of Unipart.’
