Jungheinrich ups production capacity

Jungheinrich is to open a new factory in Leipzig in 2009. The new facility will produce low-level warehouse equipment and is part of the company’s strategy to increase its overall global manufacturing capacity to over 100,000 units per annum.

In addition, the Jungheinrich Group has started work on a major overhaul of its used truck factory near Dresden. The facility is doubling its capacity and, as a result, will be capable of refurbishing some 4,500 used trucks every year.

Last year Jungheinrich completed a €40 million upgrade of its warehouse trucks production factory at Norderstedt, just outside Hamburg. The Norderstedt plant is claimed to be the largest single sit-on reach truck factory anywhere in the world.
