Agility heads the way for Gorgon project

Chevron Australia has chosen Agility Project Logistics for supply base operations and transport services to support the Gorgon Project in a contract expected to be worth some £122m (A$250m).

The Gorgon Project is a joint venture between the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron, Exxon Mobil and Shell, to develop the Greater Gorgon gas field located between 130km and 200km off the north-west coast of Western Australia. The Greater Gorgon gas fields contain resources of about 40 trillion cubic feet of gas, Australia’s largest-known undeveloped gas resource.

Agility Australia’s managing director Mick Turnbull said, “This is a significant step for the company as it continues to develop its world class logistic operations to support the Australian offshore oil and gas industry. This project will require significant investment and recruitment and will have an important impact on the West Australian economy”.
