Lloydspharmacy has brought in Phil Streatfield as supply chain and business efficiency director. This is a board-level role overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, business efficiency improvement, and IT, including the ongoing roll-out of the chain’s SAP business management software.
He joins from Spicers, the wholesale distributor of office products where he was European supply chain and IT director.
Streatfield said: “There is a lot of pressure in the retail world at the moment and there is real energy at Lloydspharmacy to make a difference to how we support peoples’ healthcare. Improvements to the supply chain and business productivity will allow staff to spend more time with customers. The challenge is to bring together our 1,640 stores to generate some national leverage.”

He originally trained as an analytical chemist, before undertaking a number of roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Before joining Spicers he held supply chain and IT roles within Woolworths and Entertainment UK, provided consultancy support to M&S and Nokia Siemens Networks and held global supply chain roles within GlaxoSmithKline.
Streatfield was supply chain director of Entertainment UK when it won the Retail & Distribution category in the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards in 2005.
Tony Page, MD of Lloydspharmacy, described Streatfield’s role as critical “as we look at how we can drive efficiency through the business from manufacturer to patient. The better we can do this, the better we can serve our customers, giving them the service and time that they value.”
