New supply chain chief for Seagate

Dennis Omanoff has joined Seagate, the disk drive manufacturer, as senior vice president for supply chain and procurement. He is responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of Seagate’s supply chain and materials organisations.

Omanoff has more than 25 years of executive experience in operations and quality control. Prior to joining Seagate, he was SVP and chief supply chain and procurement officer at McAfee.

He re-engineered McAfee’s global supply chain operations, which doubled its operating margins and achieved high-tech industry bests for low inventory backlogs and high inventory turns.

He also served as VP of operation and support at two storage start-ups, where he headed support operations, supply chain creation and software Licensing.

He’s managed clean rooms and complex, capital-intensive environments at Texas Instruments, and was also appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce to serve as a Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Examiner.  He has worked in the information security, storage, networking, telecommunications and retail sectors, and is a frequent speaker at industry and market analyst events.
