Hilary Devey, founder of Pall-Ex and TV Dragon, hosted the chief commercial counsellor of the Republic of Turkey at the Leicestershire hub of Pall-Ex, in order to promote UK-Turkey trade, and to clarify plans for a Turkish pallet network.
Tankut Aydin of the Turkish government, and Uday K Dholakia OBE, chairman of the Leicestershire Asian Business Association, called on other businesses to follow Pall-Ex’s lead and asked the government to consider a Fair Trade Agreement with Turkey.
Devey said that for Pall-Ex Turkey is a key to its planned Pan European Network expansion.
“We all know that it is a tough trading environment and the fact that the UK has sunk back into recession should motivate people to look for new growth opportunities. The reality is that you cannot rely solely on the domestic market for success and Turkey really is a viable option,” said Devey.
