BITA, the British Industrial Truck Association, is to present an Award for “Lifting Industry Standards” at the 2012 European Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
This award, which is in the gift of BITA, will be presented for the initiative that has done most to lift industry standards in the past year.
BITA is the UK’s leading trade association for forklift truck manufacturers and suppliers, companies supplying associated components and services, and the materials handling media. BITA plays a pivotal role in the industry, partnering with key international organisations to help set and maintain the highest technical standards, while also working continually to improve forklift operational safety.
“Supply chain excellence itself depends on materials handling excellence,” says James Clark, Secretary-General of BITA, “and excellence is a journey not a destination. To lift industry standards we must all remain clearly focused on efficiency and safety, while also taking steps to ensure our vital industry remains sustainable in future.”
Stephen Brooks, managing director of Awards organiser Akabo Media, said: “BITA will take a table at the 2012 Awards and we are delighted to welcome them. This new Award will play a key role in promoting excellence in supply chain operations.”
