Ebara picks Pull system to reduce inventory

Ebara, the Japanese manufacturer of pumps and other fluid machinery, is aiming to reduce lead times and inventory while improving efficiency by the implementation of a Dassault Systèmes Pull manufacturing solution.
Starting at the company’s Fujisawa plant in Japan, the goal was to unify a sequence of disparate inventory, production and delivery processes to improve visibility and control of their production processes. This led to a decision to introduce a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to manage operations, reduce lead times and inventory, and improve efficiency.

An Ebara spokesman said: “The user friendliness of DELMIA Apriso makes it possible for one person to complete store deployment and inventory management of products within quite a short time. Our Apriso solution allows us to substantially reduce operations load, one of the issues of our previous ERP system, so we are expecting further cost efficiency improvements.”
