KN Drinks Logistics expands RDC network

KN Drinks Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kuehne + Nagel in the UK has
expanded its network with the opening of a new 15,676 sqm regional distribution centre (RDC) at Hams Hall. The new facility, which will operate on a shared-user basis, has been constructed on a design and build basis and comprises a 14,524 sqm warehouse and 1152 sqm of office space. KN Drinks Logistics now has five RDCs and a total of 22 operating facilities.
The company expects to handle an average throughput of 19,000
pallets per month at the new site, rising to 28,000 pallets per month
during peak seasons. The volumes will comprise a combination of both
Anheuser-Busch and Scottish & Newcastle products, with potential
further expansion. Operations carried out at Hams
Hall will include receiving goods, picking, goods despatch, bulk and
racked temperature controlled storage, bulk ambient storage and
handling of imports.
