Dachser to open Austria site

Dachser is to open a new 215,000 sq ft site in Stans in Tyrol, Austria. The site will have 30 gates and a storage and logistics area covering approximately 50,000 sq ft.

Tibbett opens 15th Romanian warehouse

Tibbett Logistics has opened its 15th warehouse in Bucharest, Romania. The new site, which will be operational later on in July, will be used for the handling and storage of white goods and electrical products.

BMW opens biggest parts DC outside Germany

BMW has opened its biggest Regional Parts Distribution Centre outside Germany in Korea. The 57,000 sq m DC south west of Seoul is three times the size of the existing DC.

DSV plans 900,000 sq ft Venlo DC

DSV has bought 1.5 million sq ft of land opposite its existing facilities in Venlo, Netherlands. The new space is to be developed with a further 893,000 sq ft of warehouse.

ASOS moves into Eurohub 2 as sales rise

International sales rose 54 per cent at ASOS in the half year to 28th February, and now account for 62 per cent of the online fashion retailer’s total sales.

473,000 sq ft Hamburg logistics park opens

A 473,000 sq ft logistics park, “Goodman Interlink Hamburg”, has opened at the Port of Hamburg. With its subsidiary Satair Group, Airbus will occupy around 231,000 sq ft of space at the logistics park.

Greencarrier opens Polarbase site

Greencarrier Freight Services has established a Polarbase office to assist the service to Norway’s oil and gas market. This comes after the company won a contract with ENI Norge to provide port logistics and transport solutions.

DSV is to run Primark’s new, 700,000 sq ft logistics centre in the Netherlands. The new facility is located in the southern part of the Netherlands in Roosendaal.

DHL e-commerce has opened a fulfilment centre in Sydney to support demand for overseas goods among Australia’s online shoppers.

DPD Germany starts operations at Nagold DC

DPD Germany has started operations at its new €30 million, 613,000 sq ft parcel distribution centre in Nagold, near Stuttgart. The site will sort and distribute around 37,000 parcels daily, with a workforce of 300.

DHL invests €230m in German hub

DHL has opened a new sorting centre at its express hub in Leipzig, Germany as part of a €230million investment into the expansion of the site. The facility includes fully automated sorting for heavier shipments.

2.5m sq ft logistics centre for Metro Group

German retail and wholesale company Metro Group is to develop a new 2.5m sq ft logistics centre based in Marl, Germany. Developer Goodman Group is investing €200 million in the project – which will be completed by March 2018.

Record take-up of European logistics space in 2015

In 2015 the take up of industrial and logistics space in Europe increased by 7 per cent. The figures, taken from a new report by Cushman and Wakefield, show that a record 18million sq m of was occupied in Europe last year.

Strong activity from occupiers across Europe has led to the lowest vacancy rates since 2007. But, says Liza Helps, it’s not all bad news for occupiers.
