Dixons Carphone has awarded a £78m three-year national distribution contract to DHL Supply Chain.
DHL has committed to deliver multi-million pound savings over the life of the contract through an improved network design, efficiency projects and collaborative initiatives.
Steve Gibb, supply chain director at Dixons Carphone, said: “We are looking forward to working in closer partnership with DHL, whose collaborative and agile supply chain solution is projected to deliver significant operational efficiencies.”
The deal follows the mergers of Dixons and Carphone Warehouse in August last year.
In April, Dixons Carphone revealed that it is considering plans to consolidate distribution and repair operations at its Newark site, which would result in the closure of its operation at Wednesbury.
In a trading statement earlier this month, Sebastian James, CEO of Dixons Carphone said: “Integration is progressing as planned with key organisational structure and head office decisions now made and consultations begun on our warehousing centres.
“The CPW stores-within-a-store continue to perform well. There are now 233 open within CurrysPCWorld stores, of which 95 are full CPW executions, and we are averaging 4 additional stores each week.”
