Kerry to take House of Fraser to China

House of Fraser has contracted Kerry Logistics to provide logistics services to support its expansion into China.

Kerry Logistics will operate the 90,000 sq ft of warehouse, as well as providing import agency services, import customs brokerage, and domestic distribution and e-fulfilment. In addition the logistics firm will hold responsibility for various add-ons, including re-conditioning of consumer returns and product localisation.

Tony Carr, House of Fraser executive director, supply chain and international, said: “Kerry Logistics’ expertise and local knowledge will be invaluable as we establish a presence in the region and bring our premium shopping experience to the consumers in China.”

The retailer is set to open stores across China, with the first three in Nanjing, Chongqing, and Xuzhou. It also plans to launch an on-line portal in the country as part of on-going expansion plans following its acquisition by Sanpower Group last year.
