Kewill has acquired IBM Sterling Transport Management System, which it will roll up into its Kewill MOVE multimodal transport management platform.

As part of the acquisition, a team of IBM personnel will be transferring to Kewill. The acquisition will provide Kewill MOVE with a multimodal transport management system, which will be rebranded as Kewill Transport.

Bob Farrell, president and CEO at Kewill, said: “The acquisition of the IBM Sterling TMS enhances Kewill’s position in the multimodal transport management space, and in particular in the North American marketplace, enabling us to extend the range of solutions we offer to shippers and retailers.”

Kewill Transport plans and executes inbound and outbound transport processes, and connects logistics networks of carriers, shippers, and customers, automating the entire transport management process. The system is delivered as software-as-a-service.
