Music indy picks Cinram

Cinram has signed a multi-year contract with [PIAS], the independent music company, to provide full order to cash fulfilment services from its Aylesbury distribution centre.

[PIAS] works labels such as Beggars Banquet, BMG Rights, Domino and Mute, representing artists including Adele and the Arctic Monkeys.

PIASRichard Sefton, director of sales at [PIAS] UK said: “Cinram understands our business very well and we’re looking forward to combining our skills to provide a market leading solution for the artists and labels [PIAS] is proud to work with.”

The Cinram facility in Aylesbury was built by CBS as its UK vinyl press in the early 1970s. The automated DC now ships thousands of packages direct to store and consumer every day, including specialist entertainment retailers such as Rough Trade, Piccadilly Records and HMV.

“With both parties’ progressive attitude and passion for the sector, there is great scope and flexibility for us to build on the relationship as the industry evolves”, said Dean Watkins, business development director for Cinram UK.
