New Wave picks DHL for Asia-Europe contract

New Wave, the Swedish group which supplies corporate promotional goods, gifts and home furnishings, has signed a three year contract with DHL Global Forwarding.

DHL will be responsible for transporting some 2,400 TEUs and more than 5,000 cubic meters of LCL freight from Asia and the Middle East into the EMEA region.

All services will be delivered through a control tower in Gothenburg, Sweden, supported by a operational set-up through-out the Asian region. A key part of the contract is end-to-end visibility of all purchase orders down to item level – from order placement, physical product consolidation services and customs clearance through to fulfilment.

New Wave brands include Craft, Speedo, Pax, Ahead, Clique and Kosta Boda.

“In DHL we see an ideal partner to strengthen our position as a leading supplier of promotional products. The DHL solution will provide better control in our supply chain and improve our vendor management – allowing us to focus on developing our brands”, said Magnus Claesson, New Wave’s chief buying officer.
