Pharmaceuticals firm Stada has contracted DHL Supply Chain to manage logistics activities at its two Frankfurt sites with a ten-year contract that will see DHL integrate Stada’s logistics business, including the transfer of 155 employees working in Stada’s warehouse, anesthetics and export operations.
The contract is set to take effect in June, and DHL is planning the development and implementation of a new facility and IT system.
Stada products include stomach medicines, antihypertensive agents and anti-inflammatory agents. Branded products, include the cold medicine Grippostad, the Parkinson’s disease medication ApoGo and the sun cream Ladival.
Benoit Dumont, CEO Germany, Alps & Nordics at DHL Supply Chain, said: “To cater to Stada’s needs and those of additional customers, DHL is planning to invest into a new facility. After a detailed feasibility study we will also decide about the implementation of a new IT system.”
