Prologis is to start the speculative development of a 37,000 sq m logistics facility at the Port of Gothenburg Logistics Park by the port of Gothenburg.
Construction, which follows the obtaining of a construction permit, is scheduled to start on 18th April , with completion due in the first quarter of 2017.
The new facility, Prologis Park Gothenburg II, will be built on a 130,000 sq m area of land acquired by Prologis from the City of Gothenburg. Phase one of the project includes 37,000 sq m in two buildings, but there are plans to develop a number of logistics facilities totalling approximately 65,000 sq m.
“Gothenburg is the Nordics’ logistics hub, and the need for modern logistics properties continues to increase,” said Allan Lavén, regional director of Prologis Nordic. “Our existing logistics facility of 70,000 sq m in Gothenburg is fully leased and we are already in advanced discussions with tenants for the new facility.”
The facility will offer logistics space starting at 5,000 sq m. The larger of the two buildings, at 27,000 sq m, can be subdivided into three parts to accommodate multiple tenants.
Prologis Park Gothenburg II is located 10 minutes from the city centre and the same distance from the Port of Gothenburg
