Singapore Post (SingPost) has opened a $182 million regional e-commerce logistics hub at Tampines Logistics Park.
The 553,000 sq ft facility is three-storeys high, with two warehousing floors, and 150 loading bays. The lower ground has an automated parcel sorting facility, which has a capacity of up to 100,000 parcels a day.
“The opening of our regional e-commerce logistics hub is another milestone in the expansion of SingPost’s e-commerce logistics network, which now spans 19 markets across Asia Pacific, Europe and the US,” said Simon Israel, SingPost’s chairman. “Singapore’s regional connectivity makes it ideally positioned to be a centre for eCommerce.
“Everything in this building is scalable, which means we can keep upgrading it to meet the needs of the future.”
The company has also launched a centre of innovation – which will carry out research into new logistics and postal services and products, with emphasis on new technologies like robotics and automation.
